Mary Ballantyne

CANHR mourns the loss of Mary Ballantyne, who died in Saratoga in early March. Mary was a passionate and committed advocate for long term care residents, a colleague and a long time friend of CANHR. A former teacher and long term care ombudsman in Santa Clara County, Mary helped organize and sustain our Santa Clara County Family Support Group for over 20 years, providing services to family members and residents and educating legislators. She served on CANHR’s Board of Directors from 1988 through 1994 and continued to donate her energy and enthusiasm to CANHR’s programs and outreach. Mary touched the lives of many, and she will be missed.
