Where to Report AbuseIn all cases of emergency, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY! When you reasonably suspect that and elder or dependent adult has been abused or neglected in a care facility such as a nursing home or residential care facility for the elderly (sometimes called board and care or assisted living), immediately contact one or more of the following agencies: To Report All Kinds of Abuses To Report Nursing Home Abuse To Report Abuse Nursing Home or Residential Care Abuse To Report Nursing Home Abuse To Report Residential Care Abuse If the abuse occurs in a community setting such as a home or apartment, make the report to local law enforcement and county District Attorney's office (check California District Attorney's Association for current addresses and phone numbers at www.cdaa.org) and to the county Adult Protective Services. (Contact APS in your county by referring to California Department of Social Services Web site at http://www.dss.cahwnet.gov/cdssweb/ ) To Report Medi-Cal Fraud or Financial Abuse For fraudulent Medi-Cal practices, contact the Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse at 1-800-722-0432 or http://caag.state.ca.us. Other Financial Abuse For questionable annuity practices, contact the State Insurance Commissioner's Office at 1-800-927-4347 or www.insurance.ca.gov.
