Detectives Seek Leads in Rape of Women at Torrance Nursing Home
Los Angeles Times
Detectives are looking for leads after the arrest of a 20-year-old man suspected of sexually assaulting three elderly women in a nursing home near Torrance, authorities said Thursday.
Christopher Richardson allegedly broke into the Heritage Rehabilitation Center in unincorporated Carson on Feb. 16 and attacked the three women, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
"The women were traumatized but not hurt," said Lt. Duane Allen of the Carson sheriff's station.
Richardson allegedly entered the building through an unlocked window sometime between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. He was arrested a week later by Gardena police in connection with a similar sexual assault, Allen said.
He said Richardson, who is in jail on the Gardena case, is facing charges of lewd acts against the elderly, burglary and elderly abuse in connection with the nursing home assaults.
Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Barry Shapiro of the Carson station at (310) 830-1123.
