Leaving a
Legacy
You Can Leave a Legacy Even if You Are Not Rich
People often think they need a large estate in order to leave a bequest to
their favorite non-profit. This is not true. Individuals from all walks of life
can leave a portion of their estate to charities of their choice through their
will or estate plan. While some gifts may be large, they can also be $1000 or
less. You don't have to be rich to leave a legacy.
Gifts may be in the form of money, property or investments. Tax benefits may
be derived from these gifts. An attorney, accountant or financial advisor
can help to determine the gift that's right for each individual.
Consider leaving a legacy.
Consider a Bequest to CANHR
You can make a last gift to CANHR with a simple stroke
of a pen.
To leave a bequest to CANHR, all you have to do is include
in your will a simple statement to the effect:
"I give, devise and bequest to California Advocates For
Nursing Home Reform,
located at 650 Harrison Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94107,
the sum $________ (or a percent of the estate), to be used for general
purposes."
For a Lawyer Referral contact Sarah Kornfeld at the CANHR
office.
