On Tuesday, July 16, the Massachusetts Joint Committee on Elder Abuse Oversight will consider three bills that address informed consent for the use of psychotropic drugs on nursing home residents. The focus of the bills is a requirement that informed consent be memorialized in writing – a process that is not required in most states, including California.
