The Chemical Beat Goes On

California’s rate of psychoactive drug use for nursing home residents rose in 2009 and is now nearly 58%.  It appears that we could all learn a few things from Hawaii, the state with the lowest rate of drugging residents at 40%.  You can see the states’ drugging rates – along with all sorts of other interesting data – in the recently released report from the University of California San Francisco.  Go to page 41 to see the state specific drugging rates.
