Popular Dementia Care Symposia Coming to NorCal

REGISTER NOW FOR Dementia Care Without Drugs РA Better Approach for Long-term Care Facilities.

CANHR is pleased to announce two new symposia to address the increasing misuse of psychotropic drugs as treatment for dementia. The symposia, “Dementia Care Without Drugs – A Better Approach for Long-term Care Facilities” will be held in Sacramento on October 26 and South San Francisco on October 27. CANHR is co-sponsoring the seminars with Ombudsman Services of Northern California and Ombudsman Services of San Mateo County, respectively.

The symposia follow the highly successful format used in Oxnard earlier this year. Both symposia will feature discussions on non-pharmacological approaches to caring for people who are in advanced stages of dementia. CANHR staff attorney Tony Chicotel will make a presentation entitled “Stop Drugging Our Elders!”

The ombudsman programs are handling registrations for the events. Anyone can register to attend.

It is only $37 to register for the Sacramento symposium. Click here for registration information for the Sacramento symposium.

It is only $30 to register for the South San Francisco symposium. Click here for registration information for the South San Francisco symposium.

For more information about the symposia or if interested in planning a symposium in your community, please contact Tony Chicotel or Mike Connors.
