on CANHR Trainings

Over the past eighteen years, CANHR has provided extensive training and education to legal services programs, private bar attorneys, social workers, discharge planners, residential care providers, HICAP staff, ombudsman staff, interested advocates and providers. CANHR is certified to offer continuing education credits to social workers, and MCLE and legal specialization credits to attorneys.

Training topics have included:

CANHR staff offers a number of attorney trainings to legal services programs and private bar attorneys per year on the issues of planning for long term care and nursing home litigation. In addition, CANHR presents numerous specialized trainings for individual legal services programs, HICAP, ombudsman, and social services agencies throughout California.

CANHR publishes numerous training and education materials, all of which are available free to legal services programs in California. These include attorney training guides on Medi-Cal Planning, Nursing home Litigation, a compendium of Nursing Home Law materials, and guides to Medi-Cal and Long Term Care services, some of which are also available in Spanish and Chinese.
